As a stay at home mom, she gave up her job and her outside life to raise her boys and be a good wife. Her family became her only focus. When Brian tells her he wants to “spice up” their love life, she is hesitant but agrees to his “surprise.” He lights the candles, plays the music, but when she opens her eyes, will it be the boost Brian hoped for or will it be the first domino to fall?
That is the plot description of the novella, Celia. The author, Erin R. Britt, has stopped by this morning to share a few words about what inspired her to write her book.
While fictionalized, Celia is the story of my second marriage. All of the narrator’s emotions were my own at some point. I was devastated when my husband announced he was transitioning from male to female. I hit the wall and curled up on my kitchen floor and bawled. I lost custody of my children. I even got my second tattoo because I was so emotionally numb that I was considering using a kitchen knife to cut myself just so I could feel something.
